Ahead of December 5 governorship election in Bayelsa state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plans to arrest some of its members with strong and influential electoral support base. Nigeria follows closely behind Ghana making up the top three worst performing nations in the corruption index. For the first time, people reported business executives as highly corrupt. Goodluck Jonathan, the immediate past president of Nigeria narrowly escaped death in Bayelsa state today, November 30. Some suspected men accused of working for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state drove into Jonathan’s convey. The State Dining Room at Buckingham Palace, the setting for sumptuous royal banquets for world leaders and others dignitaries, has been closed amid concerns over the safety of the ceiling, it has emerged. Buckingham Palace conformed that access to the room, used just last month to host a state banquet for the Chinese President Xi Jinping, had been “suspended” while further checks are carried out. It follows what was described as a “routine survey” which raised questions about with a beam which forms part of the elaborate gilded ceiling.
