Nigeria: Oliseh Wants Friendly With 'Much Improved' Shilangu



Super Eagles Head Coach, Sunday Oliseh, says he will like to meet Swaziland again when the build up to the African Nations Cup and Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers begins.

Nigeria defeated Swaziland 2-0 on Tuesday to book its place in the last qualifying round of the Russia 2018 World Cup.

The Eagles also have two crucial African Nations Cup qualifiers against Egypt in March next year. And in preparing for the challenges, Oliseh believes playing against a team as strong as the Shilangu Semnika would keep his team in good shape for the battles.
"If I got a chance to play a friendly in the future I will invite Swaziland. Their FIFA ranking is totally not justified. We should congratulate them.

"They caused us a lot of problems; they were always compact and resilient. They played with their hearts over the two legs and made things pretty difficult for us," Oliseh said during the post match conference at the Adokie Amiesiamaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
Oliseh, whose strikers have not been able to score after 180 hours of football, believes the goal drought is a temporary thing that would be corrected soon.

Nigeria drew goalless with the Swazis in Lobambo, while midfielder, Moses Simon and defender, Ambrose Efe, accounted for the Eagles 2-0 defeat of the Shilangu Semnika.
Oliseh points to the previous record of nine goals in his first eight games to buttress his point that the strikers are up to the task of shooting Nigeria to the 2017 Nations Cup and the 2018 World Cup.

"We have kept seven clean sheets and gradually the team is showing more aggression and creating more chances to score but we must be patient with our forwards, their goals will come," Oliseh said.
