Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Lily Allen FINALLY kiss and make up after bitter 9-year feud
The two singers cosied up at the
British Fashion Awards despite having clashed numerous times over the years in
a nasty war of words
Cheryl , 32, braved the freezing
cold in a sheer custom-made Topshop gown and over-the-knee boots.
Mum-of-two Lily opted for a
metallic navy Chanel gown which matched the blue hue of her bobbed hair.
She later paired the designer
frock with a fetching padded blue jacket as temperatures plummeted.
The two singers have clashed
numerous times over the years in a bitter war of words.
Their rivalry first started nine
years ago when Lily recorded a song called Cheryl Tweedy - Chezza's name before
she married love rat Ashley Cole - and later claimed nobody wanted to look like
the Girls Aloud star - saying, "they just think they do".
In retaliation, the Geordie
beauty branded the Smile singer a "chick with a d*ck" as the verbal
battle truly got personal.
Lily penned an open letter to
Cheryl, insisting her route to success - "taking your clothes off, doing
sexy dancing and marrying a rich footballer" - wouldn't make her mum
proud.
She wrote: "Cheryl, if
you're reading this, I may not be as pretty as you, but at least I write and
sing my own songs without the aid of Auto-Tune.
"I must say, taking your
clothes off, doing sexy dancing and marrying a rich footballer must be very
gratifying, your mother must be so proud."
But last year, Lily appeared to
offer an olive branch as she admitted she regretted the bitter feud .
Speaking to Q magazine, she said:
"I wish that whole thing hadn't happened. I like Cheryl.
"She's good on The X Factor,
she's pretty and she's got balls. I like women who do well."
